Choose a starting point
The first time you sign in to an empty account, GoalZen offers to fill it with a realistic sample week so you can see how everything fits together before you add your own.
Pick a template, or start empty
The screen is called Choose a starting point. The recommended template is shown first; press See all … templates to see the others, such as Everyday, Student on a deadline, Engineer levelling up and Freelancer with clients.
Each template shows how many goals, tasks, habits, projects, notes and routine items it adds, all dated from today. Press Start as Everyday (or whichever you picked), or Start empty if you would rather build from scratch.

Read the Today page
Today is where GoalZen opens. From top to bottom:
This week and your time blocks
The This week strip holds up to three things you want to move forward this week (Pick three). Below it are today’s time blocks from your routine.
Start here
The Start here panel shows one task and the reason it was picked, for example “overdue” or “due today”. If it is the wrong one, press Not this one and GoalZen offers the next.

Finish your first task
Mark it done
Click the circle at the start of a row, or press Done in the Start here panel. From Start here you can add an optional note about what changed, then press Mark done.
A message confirms Done: and the task’s name. Pressed it by mistake? Press Undo in that message.
